Due to the ridiculous gas prices I've put the Townwagon into semi-retirement. In 2005 I purchased a 1970 Karmann Ghia from
a gentleman near Baltimore. He had started to restore it, but life interfered. All the parts were there and we towed it home.
A rather uneventful trip, except for the right front wheel catching fire on the interstate due to a dragging brake. We reassembled
it, converting the autostick to a 4 speed and redid the interior and brakes and it became my daily driver. When Alan got
married in 2006 it was their groom driven wedding limo. This required new paint and a dash pad. I drive the Ghia to work
daily unless it's snowing and I take the Townwagon. This is the first car I've ever owned and I love it.
