Here are pics of my 1960 Hansa 1100 sedan and  1958 Goliath 1100 sedan

Here she is mostly back together (Oct. 2005), after the paint job.  The roof is gloss black, and the body is a 1956 Ford color called Fiesta Red, which is very close to an original Goliath color which was called Tropical Coral.  The paint is polyurathane and was sprayed by MAACO.

Front end shows off many NOS parts, including parking light lenses (atop the fenders), grill center piece, chrome trim around the grill, and hubcaps.
Grill shell, grill, and front bumper came from a donor car in New Mexico. Other pieces, including turn signal lenses, hood ornament and trim are original to the car

Rear of car shows off its NOS bumper, & chromed trunk handle.   Tail light lenses are original, but the bezels came from Dave Mullett of VT. Two tone paint job really brings out the lines of the car.

All side chrome pieces are original to the car.
Hansa 1100 scripts have been painted gold and look almost plated.

Dummy spotlight is mounted where the mirror was located.  Original mirror was broken, and a new one has not been found, so a generic vintage mirror is mounted to the door.

dggoli7.jpg

Interior panels are original; offwhite center section was repainted with vinyl paint.  Grey sections are untouched.  Plastic strips under windows are original  bakelite plastic, which were originally brown, but were repainted grey to match the interior as was done on the upscale Goliath Tiger Coupe' and Empress/Luxus models.

All areas under hood and truck, and all door jams were painted the Fiesta Red, as car was originally all black (as you'll see below).

I think she's saying: "Put me back together!"

Pic from the shop, just after the black paint was sprayed on the roof.  Car was stripped of most of its original paint, and may dents and creases were pounded out and filled.
Butch and the boys down at MAACO did a nice job!

...and before the paint job...

The car arrived from Bremen Germany to a dealer near Bordentown New Jersey, probably sometime in early 1960, and was purchased by a William Robinson, who drove it for about 10 years until it blew a head gasket.  It then sat for over 20 years in a chicken coop, until it was rescued by Rich Bachmann (President of the Microcar & Minicar Club). He replaced one of the heads, rewired and replumbed it, and got her running again.  With too many restorations going, Rich decided to sell it.
I bought it from him in August of 1999, and have continued the restoration.

Originally a black car, it spent about 2 years mostly in primer, until the paint job in Sept 2005

Looked good in primer at a cruise-in during summer, 2004

Upholstery is all original coral red and grey

Here is the car as I got it in 1999...original paint, many dents, good bit of rust.  It ran but had no brakes, and everything leaked!!
