Dave's '60 Goliath is shown here with fresh new paint. The color is very close to one of the many pastel
greens used by the Goliath Werk in Germany.
It is a 1962 VW color called Breath Green.

Keith Brown of Montpelier VT shot the paint, and his son Shawn Brown and Dave's son John Mullett sprayed the wheels
an original looking cream, which matches the newly painted cream dashboard you'll see later.

Dave found the car when it was offered for auction on eBay in early fall 2001. It was a barn fresh car with a very
bent hood. It was found outside of Albany NY. It had some surface rust, but is a very solid rust free car.
The seller offered it to Dave after the auction was over and didn't meet the reserve.

Beautiful front end view shows a good straight hood from a donor car in New Mexico, a NOS mesh grill originally from
Mexico via Dyck Livant of the BOC and David Gladkosky. All the other parts you see in this pic are original to the car.
Dave has the right side headlight ring, but needs to find a better bezel that doesn't have a missing mounting screw hole.

The car has a completely new exhaust system, installed by Keith Brown. Dave went through and completely rebuilt
the brakes, using a new master cylinder from a VW microbus. Dave also had the gas tank redone, and has installed a
new fuel pump, left front cv joint and axle, and replaced one of the tail light lenses.

Restoration of interior has been started, with a respray of the dash in a cream color (original color was grey).
The upholstery is an all original green and grey leather-vinyl, and is in excellent shape! She's a great driver, and Dave
really enjoys getting out and driving through the rolling hills of Vermont.

All Goliath 1100s have a 4 speed shifter that comes out of the dash. Note the shift pattern on the left.
Odometer shows 25, 725 (as of Summer '05; she's racked up a few more by now!), and is believed to be the original mileage.

1094cc (66 cu.in.) horizontally opposed 4 cylinder engine runs well, and has only needed a valve adjustment,
and a tune up. This engine has never been rebuilt, but the engine has been developing some compression problems, so
a rebuild is now in the works! Dave is thinking about converting it to a dual carb setup, which was an option on all
Goliath 1100 models.
