The main info screen for myHouse, displaying various temperatures (Colossus is my IIgs and MacSmurf is my Blue and White PowerMac G3), the day and time the next Hard Drive backup takes place and the status of various setting. The flags to the left indicate a phone call has been received and that a light is on in the basement. The flag on the right shows the mail has arrived. Mail arival is also announced in a digitized voice. The Bed temperature is for my waterbed; the IIgs is responsible for maintaining a comfortable temperature range during the cold months.

Wake Up - The IIgs will switch sound to the bedroom and call me in a digitized voice. It will make 3 attempts at the specified snooze interval, then, if I'm still not up, it turns on the overhead bedroom light.

Alarm - Simalar to Wake Up, but different sounds can be selected, sound is played only once and is not switched to the bedroom.

On Hour - A selection on the Clock Menu can set this to "Chime on Hour", "Speak on Hour" or off.

Security - Shows On, Off or Standby. Standby mode allows me to exit the house and punch in my code before Security kicks in.

Answer Phone - Turns the answer function on and off, sets the greeting sound and Tele-marketer filter.

Online - The IIgs used to be responsible for automatically downloading messages and email from GEnie and Delphi. At a specified time of day, myHouse would call Spectrum to perform the assigned task, then put a flag on the desktop to indicate success or failure. This duty has been turned over to the Mac now, using Applescript and ProTerm Mac.

Log Events - All events detected by myHouse are logged to a file.

Auto-Cool - Sets high/low temperture limits for fans and the air conditioner. Heating is controlled from the schedule loaded into the CP290 Computer Interface by X10House and an X-10 Thermostat Setback module.

This screen shows options that can be activated when "Bedtime" is selected from the House menu. Manually selecting each option when I'm headed for bed is just too inconvienient ;-)

A Phone Number can be enerted into myHouse that can be called in case of an emergency (break in, fire,etc.). There is also an option to send a (non emergency) message to someone at a specific time.
