Papersails Newsletter

The recent Maine Boat builders Show was a great experience for me and for everybody who was/is interested in my paper models. Almost an overwhelming success, which convinced me even more that there is a market out there...

My website will soon be completed with all the products, descriptions, and retail prices for ordering and buying online. Special orders (Custom made products) and wholesale prices available on request.

Paper Model Kits

In the meantime I'm working on improvements for the existing Optimist, Catboat and Friendship Sloop, complete with instructions on how to assemble. Everyone who bought a kit at the Portland Boat Show gets an update. Just send me an e-mail.

More kits will come available soon: a schooner, a gundalow and possible a nonesuch with that typical whisbone rig. Perhaps I should also consider a multihull...

Mobiles

Several customers liked the mobiles and wondered why it wasn’t available as a do-it-yourself kit. Great idea; I'm working on it. Some sailboat manufacturers were interested in a mobile with their boats! And why not?

Sailhouettes

The wooden shadowboxes with just the sails (no hull) were adored by many. I'm going to design more. Special the smaller size was popular as a unique and not to expensive gift. Also a custom made model from your boat was a hit. And there are several requests for boxes containing a certain class, as a unique trophy for sailing clubs...

Over Sea Paper Models

In Europe (Holland, that’s where I’m from, Germany, Poland, Czech, France, Greece) there is a big market of paper model manufacturers. I'm investigating the possibilities of importing of a selective range of paper sailboat models. Because the value of Euro versus Dollar and the shipping costs, it won't be cheap but there are beautiful paper examples to build. See my "Links" on http://www.papersails.net

For Organizations, Clubs, Museums, Schools

Besides the products that I create, for sale on line and in nautical oriented stores, I'm also considering giving workshops for 7th graders and up; workshops with Wind as the theme. Little scientific hands-on exercises to explore several aspects of the wind, like: Build your own instrument to measure the force and direction of the wind (of course in paper). Let's make a windmill. How does a sail work? Build a paper kite or two...

And of course we're going to build a papersailer.

Papersails, a new name in graphic design, is inspired by the wind.
An art studio with a passion for sailboats, ice-sailers, kites and windmills; anything that uses the force of the wind.
Creative ideas are scaled down into handsome models, constructed in paper or published in print. It's fun, it's educational, it's informational, it's papersailing.

My products are a combination of graphic design, paper engineering and illustration.

I design, sell, resell and promote a world of sailing papers for everyone who shares my fascinaton for wind-related objects.
