As I said on the "home" section, my name is Bob Klotz. I currently reside in Coopersburg
Pa. After putting my daughter to bed for the night, I head down to my makeshift shop in the basement. My wife promises
me that when she graduates from school she'll help me build my dream shop (I can't wait!).
I never realized what a science woodturning can be and there are plenty of resources out
there that tell you how to begin. Who would have ever thought it could be so complex?
Like I said, I'm still in the beginning stages of my craft, so I have much more to learn
about types of wood, finishing, tools etc. It's amazing to see the creativity that other people have and it inspires
me to create new things. I attempt to challenge myself by learning as much as I can about woodworking and turning.
I am definately a novice woodturner. I'm still undecided as to the avenues that I'd like
to pursue regarding my turning. I don't feel as though I have the mastery of the craft that it would take to sell my pieces,
yet I thoroughly enjoy the hobby of turning. I guess if it was a perfect world and we could do what we want, I'd want to be
my own boss and turn pieces to sell. I'd also like to have the skill to teach others the art of turning.
