Michael Laird is the sole proprietor of Michael Laird Rare Books. Mr. Laird earned his Masters Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Texas at Austin (1989). He has sixteen years experience in the antiquarian book trade, notably at Martin Breslauer Inc. (New York) and Ursus Rare Books (New York). Michael Laird has taught courses on Rare Books and Special Collections Librarianship at New York University (SCPS) and Long Island University (Palmer School of Library and Information Science). In Spring 2008 he will be teaching "Rare Books and Special Collections" at the University of Texas at Austin (School of Information). Michael Laird is the principal appraiser of rare books and documents for Gurr Johns Inc. (New York), the largest art appraisal company in America. He is an active member of the Bibliographical Society of America and the Grolier Club, and has published a number of scholarly articles and reviews.
