Based on the Native American research completed in class, students will create an artifact box that will contain their writing piece and several artifacts/models that represent the topics researched.  The writing piece will be completed in school, but the artifacts/models and box should be completed at home.  Artifact boxes must be finished and brought to school no later than December 22^nd so that students can present them to the class.

Artifact Box Requirements:

1.                    Boxes should be about 12” x 9 “x 2” (please no boxes too big for students to bring to school on their own).  Gift, pizza, or pastry boxes work great!

2.                    Boxes should have a label on top of the lid stating the Native American Region, student’s name, and a brief description of the contents (artifacts)

3.                    Artifacts/models should be made by the students, not purchased, to reflect the topic researched (clothing, shelters, tools, etc.).
