These are the stone gates of a Kumano Shrine in Shinjuku Chuo Park in the heart of Tokyo near my hotel. A small section of a large hotel building near the park can be seen in the upper right section of the photograph. |

This is close up view of the shrine's main hall showing more the detail.
The three ropes are used to ring the temple bells after making an offering to the local gods or kami.
|
This is a full view of the main hall on
the grounds of the Shrine that contains the shrine's sacred objects and where offerings are made. A Japanese couple is busy
preying and making an offering.
This is a photograph of myself at the stone gates of the Suwa Shrine in
city of Tachikawa just west of Tokyo. The shrine was first established in 811 ACE as a branch shrine of the Suwa Taisha in
Nagano Prefecture.

This is a photograph of a small
water fall in a mountain stream located in Yamanashi Prefecture. The water was very clean, cool, and clear.
|
This photograph is a view of Mt. Fuji from one of the five large lakes that
are on the eastern side of the mountain. Snow can still be seen on the top of the mountain even in June.
