We always to try to climb at least one mountain
each year. In 1989, we climbed Poke-a-Moon-Shine. We really were lucky that the ranger station was open. The ranger let
us come up and look around. This was one of the last years that the fire towers were open in the area. In the future, the
forests will be watched from space by satellites with infrared sensors.

Here is a picture of another one of our exciting campfires.
Everyone wanted to hear more of Uncle Bill's stirring campfire stories.

While some of the more adventurous Henckels climbed
Cascade Mountain, these Henckels "rode" to the top of Whiteface Mtn. on the ski lift. This day was memorable because the temperature
dropped to the high twenties and it became really windy- this was the middle of August!
Those that hiked up Cascade ended up in the clouds, with high winds on
the summit. We did not stay too long- too cold and windy.

Other Relatives
Here I might talk about other people in my family, or include a picture of all of us together at
some special event.
