For our country and our military. " To hold the flag of our nation as a tribute to the greatest sacrifice anyone can make is an honor . I ride freely by day and sleep peacefully by night because of all your sacrifices.
This civilian Riding in Honor of ALL who Serve(d)...
It is with great pride that I ride with the Patriot Guard and friends who are Vietnam Veterans. My Brother Bob is a Retired Navy Captain/Vietnam Veteran. I salute his service,  all who serve/d and those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. Serving not only our great nation but serving in order to preserve freedom around the world!!!

Patriot Guard Mission Statement

The Patriot Guard Riders is a diverse amalgamation of riders from across the nation. We have one thing in common besides motorcycles. We have an unwavering respect for those who risk their very lives for America’s freedom and security. If you share this respect, please join us.

We don’t care what you ride or if you ride, what your political views are, or whether you’re a hawk or a dove. It is not a requirement that you be a veteran. It doesn't matter where you’re from or what your income is; you don’t even have to ride. The only prerequisite is Respect.

Our main mission is to attend the funeral services of fallen American heroes as invited guests of the family. Each mission we undertake has two basic objectives.

1. Show our sincere respect for our fallen heroes, their families, and their communities.

2. Shield the mourning family and their friends from interruptions created by any protestor or group of protestors.

We accomplish the latter through strictly legal and non-violent means.

To those of you who are currently serving and fighting for the freedoms of others, at home and abroad, please know that we are backing you.  We honor and support you with every mission we carry out, and we are praying for a safe return home for all.

"Thank You For Your Sacrifice and Service"!

Never Again!

Project21.jpg

Why Do We Ride?
Why do we do this, you ask?
Why bother to stand out in wind and rain for someone unknown?
Why do we ride through torrents chilled to the bone?
The answer is simple: “Because, Never Again!”

Never again will they return home in shame,
Never again will wearing their uniform cause them pain.
Never again will we forget why they serve.
No, Never Again.

But still I hear you say “Why does it matter to you?”
“They aren’t your friends, your brothers, your sisters, your father, your mother.”
War is a sad time for many; it is sad but true.
So, why do you gather in the gap between their families and their foes?
The answer is simple: “Because, Never Again!”

Never again will grieving parents, families and friends alone bear mourning’s toil.
Never again will hard-won freedom of speech be used to debase and destroy.
Never again will their sacrifice be dishonored upon their home soil.
No, Never Again.

Why do we gather, why do we ride?
Why travel this country far and wide?
We remember our grandfathers, fathers, brothers and others yet to come.
We stand proud through tears reflecting their courage and pride.
Because, Never Again.

That’s why we ride.

UNDER THE LEATHER AND BEHIND THE SHADES!
Written by: Dave Meyers II

FlagLineCutjpg.jpg

Under the leather and behind the shades stands a biker. We ride for the sense of freedom it gives us. The encouragement to take the road less traveled in the chance that we may encounter something new. We ride for the friendships we make along the way, as well as, the solitude of the open road. We don’t really care what you ride, just that you do.

Under the leather and behind the shades is a beating heart. A heart filled with compassion that on any given day will be riding for those in need. Ask one of us for help, but don’t be surprised when all of us show up.

Under the leather and behind the shades stands a proud American. We are as diverse a group of people that you could possibly assemble. We are men, women, tradesmen, doctors, lawyers, retirees, military, civilian and on and on and on. We stand silently with reverence and one voice that, in the silence, can be overwhelming.

Under the leather and behind the shades stands an invited guest to the funeral of a soldier that we most likely have never met. We hold the flag of our nation as a tribute to the greatest sacrifice anyone can make. Out of respect for the fallen, we travel to stand firm for a family, a community and a nation to lean on.

Under the leather and behind the shades stands a biker with sons, daughters, brothers and sisters of our own. Beneath the rough exterior we tremble and weep at your loss. You may not see that, for we are there to support you. That’s why we stand so silently under the leather and behind the shades.

A big Thank You to: Dave Meyers II       HOGJR, PGR

ON THE 2nd ANNIVERSARY OF THE PATRIOT GUARD RIDERS :
Through the Eyes of a Patriot Guard Rider These Eyes, Our Eyes

These Eyes, our Eyes - have looked into the eyes of a Parent, who had recently lost a son or daughter in "The War on Terrorism" In their eyes,
Those Eyes we have seen the present and the past!
In Those Eyes we have seen despair, regret, sorrow, tears, confusion, hate, sadness, mistrust! But in the same eyes
Those Eyes, we have also seen love, faith, joy, hope, laughter, more love and most of all, pride and honor in the son or daughter who gave their life knowing that they were on the right side, the side that provides the freedom that we enjoy here in this great country each day.
These Eyes, our Eyes - have looked into the eyes of a Wife or Husband whose loved one paid the ultimate price fighting "The War on Terrorism". In Those Eyes we have also seen the same despair, regret, sorrow, tears, confusion, hate, sadness and mistrust! But in the same eyes
Those Eyes, we have also seen love, faith, joy, hope, laughter, more love, understanding and again most of all pride and honor knowing that their loved one was doing what He or She wanted to do and who He or She believed in what they were doing was right for all of US.
But - These Eyes, our Eyes - have also looked into each other's eyes, Those Eyes the eyes of our fellow Patriot Guard Riders.
In these Eyes, Our Eyes, we have seen, tears, compassion, regret, sympathy, but we have also found a sense of once again belonging to a group, of camaraderie, loyalty, of love and caring for each other, of hope and respect, and of new found friendships with each other. And we have seen friendships grow with the members of the families of the Fallen who know that we care and we're there for them anytime, any place for whatever reason.
These eyes, Our Eyes, the Eyes of a Patriot Guard Rider have seen more in the past 2 years then most people see in a life time but then, we wouldn't have it any other way! With Love and Respect for All,
I Remain, Jim (Dinky Dau) Lorenzo Permanent Ride Captain, Alabama dinkydau@cableone.net
