The redesigned pin symbolizes both the contemporary and continuing commitment to the three-part Girl Scout Promise. The three faces in green and gold stand for the diversity of the membership of Girl Scouting and its focus on girls.
Girl Scout Traditional
Trefoil The Traditional Trefoil, was
designed by Juliette Low and patented in 1913.She combined the British
Girl Guide Trefoil and the Great Seal of the United States of America. World Association of Girl Scouts Girl Guides The World Trefoil Pin is a unifying symbol of
Wagggs. Every part has a meaning. The golden trefoil on a bright blue
background represents the sun shining over all the children of the
world; the three leaves represent the threefold Promise as originally
laid down by the founder; the base of the stalk represents the flame of
the love of humanity; the vein pointing upwards through the center of
the trefoil represents the compass needle pointing the way; and the two
stars represent the Promise and the Law. The new World Trefoil design
was announced on May 9,1991.
