Archive Your Shows on DVD

You can't watch DVC-Pro tapes at home, but you can watch a DVD!  As soon as you finish a show, make a DVD to take home!

The DVD's will serve as your high-quality archive copies when you have to recycle the DVC-PRO tapes.

The studio supports only the DVD-R format.

DVD-R is a DVD format that allows you to record once.  You can not erase the disc and use it again.  Once the disc is finalized, you can not record additional material onto the disc, either.  DVD-R is not the same as DVD+R or DVD+/-R.

DVD-RW is a DVD format that allows you to re-record, or "re-write" over the disc.  You can erase the disc and re-record from scratch, or just simply add more recorded material to what is already on the disc.  If the disc was already finalized, you will have to unfinalize it.  You can do this by formatting the disc.  Formatting the disc will erase any material recorded onto the disc.  You can then record something new on the disc.  DVD-RW is not the same as DVD+RW or DVD+/-RW.

This site is provided as a free support service to the City of Bowie, Bowie Community Media Corporation, and the producers of both organizations.
