WHITE SHIRTS

Hosts should avoid white shirts in the studio whenever possible, because they almost always over-expose on camera.  In most cases, it is not possible to get both a proper exposure for a host's face and white shirt.

VOLUNTEERS

Click here to learn what the volunteers do for your production.  All producers can benefit from this information, which ranges from how and when to adjust focus, how to frame subjects for talk shows, how to frame actors, how to do a smooth zoom, where to place microphones, and how the audio system works.

POWER POINT

Power Points are a great way to add visual interest to a guest's topic.  If a guest brings a Power Point presentation and the image does not pass through the studio's scan converter, the guest may have to press and hold the Fn Key and then press F5 to activate the VGA output.  The Fn (or "Function") Key is sometimes located on the bottom left of a laptop keyboard.  The Fn Key is not on regular home desktop computers --- just laptops.

COLOR SLIDES

The studio owns an Image Pro slide projector from the Rosco company.  If you purchase a Rosco color slide, you will be able to project that image onto the curtain in the studio as part of your set.  The link to the Rosco image gallery is:

STUDIO RESERVATIONS

Reservation policies for the Bowie Studio are included in the Handbook that you receive as part of the registration process.  If you have produced enough shows consistently, you may be eligible for a regular date in the studio (i.e. 1st Friday night of every month).  To apply for a "regular date" in the studio:
