Hi, I'm Rachael and I am so grateful that you are interested in getting to know more about who I am. I grew up in a
small Vermont town in a tight knit family. My parents always encouraged me to pursue my interests and from the time I turned
eight and could enroll in my first ballet class, my parents found every possible way to support my passion. They drove me
to daily dance rehearsals, sent me to summer programs, and took me to see countless performances. From them, I learned the
importance of following each child's lead as they reveal their talents. It is a lesson I bring into my own parenting. From
my younger sister, Jessica, I have experienced the unconditional love that is strengthened through sharing an entire life
together. I constantly turn to her to share in exploring all of life's mysteries.
When I moved to Brooklyn, over fourteen years ago, I continued to dance and choreograph and began to teach dance to children
of all ages. I quickly realized how much I valued all of the diversity, artistry, and determination that surrounded me in
this fast-paced city. At the same time, I knew that I needed to balance my new city life with the country life I had growing
up.
Over ten years ago, Rossiya and I met through mutual friends. We got to know each over the course
of a summer as we introduced one another to our individual interests. Our relationship deepened and we found ourselves committing
to building a life together because of all that we shared in common. I am eternally grateful that I found Rossiya and for
the warmth, devotion, intellectual curiosity, humor, and spirit of adventure she brings to our life.
We
both love the act of creating an inviting and engaging home. We cherish being Ella's Mama and Mommy and we are so looking
forward to parenting another child very soon!

I am now a sixth grade teacher in the Brooklyn public schools. I love working with children and helping them to discover
their potential. Sharing the same schedule and school with Ella is an additional benefit to my job. We take full advantage
of the vacations we are given.
I continue to pursue many hobbies, including photography, cooking,
bike riding, hiking, and travel. I still am deeply interested in performance. Rossiya and I go to see theater, music, and
dance from around the world at the Brooklyn Academy of Music and are excited to introduce Ella to the arts through family
friendly productions.
