I have created this site to honor those 949 men of the 27th Maine Infantry Regiment
that served the Union during the Civil War, most of the volunteers exclusively coming from York County, Maine.
I hope to be able to learn about the ancestors and the descendants of these men, and to share their biographical
sketches here. I try to frequently update this site, so please check back if your relative is not yet posted, or
contact me to see if I have anything on your ancestor (or let me know if you have data/photographs you would like
to share).
