VHS/VUHS ALUMNI NEWS FALL 2007

Greetings

In an event to keep everyone informed about the VHS/VUHS Alumni, the Alumni Board has created this news letter.  We have mailed it out only to Alumni from the class of 1950 back.  We simultaneously have created a website which is linked to the VUHS website at www.vuhs.org.  Check us out on line!  Also please pass on this newsletter and the website to any family and friends.

Alumni Banquet - 2007

The 117th annual Alumni Dinner/Meeting was held June 16, 2007 at the American Legion in Vergennes.  90 alumni, spouses and family members were in attendance.  Oldest alumni in attendance was from the class of 1932.  The youngest alumni were four members of the class of 2007.

Besides the annual five Eva Meigs/Stuart Cotey Scholarships given to deserving members of the VUHS class of 2007, the Alumni awarded a sixth scholarship to a Senior who attended the banquet.  This scholarship money was raised at the First Annual Senior/Alumni Basketball Game held on January 20, 2007.

Reunion News

We would like to post news of reunions on our website.  If you have a report on your reunion or have information on upcoming reunions, let us know.

The Class of 1957 - 50 years

After about 10 months of planning and tossing around ideas - our reunion was a big success.  We decided to have a 3 day event, not too extravagant - so on Friday, July 27th we had a BBQ at the lake.  On Saturday, July 28th we went to Fire & Ice in Middlebury and on Sunday, July 29th, we met at a classmate's for potluck and much visiting.  One of our classmates gathered information and pictures and put together a nice booklet for us.  We graduated 43 students, 11 are deceased, 8 were Week School Students.  The attendance at all 3 activities was 21 every time.
