REMA NEWS: ___________________________________________   REMA 2008 ___________________________________________ Club Championship Results   Jeff Benton defeated Steve Johnson 7 and 6 to capture the 2008 Range End Club Championship.  The match started with Benton jumping out to a five up lead after nine holes.  The match remained 5 up after 18 holes.  The match ended on the Par 3 #13 where Benton closed out the match at 7 and 6.  Congratulations to Mr. Benton in winning his first Range End Club Championship and Mr Johnson for making it to the finals.   In other matches, the sixth flight final was decided on the last hole in an exciting finish.  Josh Beacher was 1 up over Wendell Biggs coming into the 18th hole.  Both players hit the green with their second shots.  Biggs stepped up and sank a 40 foot putt for birdie.  Not to be outdone, Mr Beacher stepped up and calmly rolled a 30 foot birdie putt to halve the hole and win the match 1-up.  Congratulations to Josh and Wendell for providing the drama to conclude the 2008 club championship.
