1962 Penguin Sailing Dinghy for sale. $3000.
Excellent little sailboat for family fun on the water in great condition. protected inside and out with epoxy, coated with bristol finish varnish for a georgeous finish. bottom coated with VC performance racing coating. Good sail, wood mast and boom in ok condiiton. Boat set up for cruising with closed top centerboard case and floorboards to keep your feet dry when sailing. Beautiful canvas and foam rubrail for comfortable sailing and safe landing alongside other boats. The penguin is a great sailboat for training children or camp cruising with one kid. i have taken 5 kids out for a day of fun. Includes unregisterd small trailer, which as always worked for hauling this boat around the shore. No holes have been drilled in this boat from new. All new harken hardware mounted on aluminum adapter plates into original holes. new running and standing rigging of vectran, needs some small repairs ( one cracked floor board, etc) but in great shape and ready to go sailing today - are you going to spend the rest of the summer sailing?

Penguin and trailer (#7104) - it's got all
the club documentation including verification of its dimensions and weight
and it's in really nice shape. Beautiful wood mast, Western Red Cedar
framing, mahogany ply hull, light blue hull sides, dark blue hull below the
water line. The interior wood could use some touchup varnishing but it's
solid and very pretty. Has been stored indoors for decades but I don't have
the room anymore because I have two late-life surprises in the form of a
three year old daughter and a 1 1/2 year old son (!). Looking to get $1300

Penguin 5282 is heading for the dump. It is a Wright; built in the early Sixties. It is modified for single handing and has extra-wide rails for stiffness and comfort. It was very fast in light air, but in 200? I was rear-ended on my way home from the Internationals in Long Island, NY. The transom and the last 6 inches or so of the boat were crushed. A professional bid on the repairs done for insurance purposes was $5,000. I think Bud and Charlie have seen the damage first hand.
Before it goes to the dump, I wanted to know if anyone wanted it or knew a place I could donate it. It will come as a shell, stripped of all hardware, spars, blades, sails, and rigging. I do not want someone to buy it for that and throw the boat away.
They can have it for free and I will deliver it (even to Salisbury).
