Ecological Beekeeping - The keeping of honeybees under a system of harmonious relationship between the honeybee, beekeeper and the environment,
by using beekeeping methodry that promotes the healthy development of the honeybee colony and its natural way of living together
with the needs of the beekeeper.
Through determined beekeeping conditions the honeybee became over decades treated so unnatural, that it's immune system
and "blood system" became debilitated; Parasites, viruses etc. are only the symptoms. Ecological Beekeeping techniques allow for the honeybees natural defense systems to be strengthened thru improved health and a balanced breeding
program. Honeybee energies that would have been exerted on stressful factors such as a depressed immune system and subsequent
disease brought on by the use of unnatural large cell size and medications, can now be applied to building up the honeybees
own natural defense systems. Just like human health, honeybees health improves when unhealthy and hazardous factors are removed
from the environment. This back to basics, self sustainable, humane and holistic approach to beekeeping ensures a clean and
safe product for the consumer and a healthy living environment for the bees.
The basic premise behind Ecological Beekeeping is that honeybees are to be kept on natural sized comb. Breeding methods are to be used that employ the use of the honeybee
colonies natural systems such as swarming impulse for queen rearing. Promote a harmonious relationship between the beekeeper
and honeybee by selecting desired traits for the beekeepers interests as well as the for the fundamental needs of the colony
by actively selecting characteristics essential for colony health, function and survival. Promoting the highest degree of
feral honeybee or other such acclimatized genetics in the breeding process. Resolving disease and honeybee problems by use
of methods that DO NOT include the use of any chemicals, pesticides, treatments, supplements or any other such contaminates.
