The late afternoon sun strikes this beautiful old church in stunning contrast to the deep blue winter sky.  The interior of the church is also a study in contrasts:  dark cherry and light maple wainscoating "stripe" the walls and ceiling.

Pierrepont Free Will Church - Age 120 years

How many babies were welcomed, how many marriages celebrated, how many deaths grieved within these walls?  My husband once wrote a poem about this church which began, "There's a church by the maples, standing on the knoll, that watches o'er the Center like an old friendly soul."  The poem may be read in its entirety on www.WizenedWizard.com (click on "Ruth's Song" on the sidebar menu).
