About a mile upstream from the launch we encountered some minor "rapids." No problem for most paddlers, but this
photographer is a chicken... After some deliberation, we paddled furiously and managed to get up over this small obstacle.
The rest of the trip was lovely, still flatwater - until on the return trip we had to maneuver down through
this same stretch with the speed of the rushing water. Afterwards we laughed at our fears: the rocks missed, the
canoe not capsized, why had we worried?
