"Bark-eater" chooses a tastier morsel.

This picture was taken on an early September evening.  The porcupine balanced himself on the spindly branches of a wild apple tree, holding fast with his back feet while his hands picked fruit.  When he saw me, he "froze," hoping that I would not see him.  Notice the bite of apple in his mouth and the drool!  He is a very beautiful and charming creature.
