Poem for Bobby
I should write you a poem…
After all, I’ve time at hoem…
I could say how sweet you’re –
Of thought and deed pure.
But I get caught up and muddled
In this and that (and oft-times befuddled)
And so I seldom put together words
That would indicate we’re love-birds.
This Christmas you touched me
With gifts chosen carefully:
A poem I think I “get”,
A popper, books and sweater that fit,
All chosen with me and pleasure in mind,
While I called catalogs to find
Those necessary items that don’t rate
Gift status: stuff you hate
To wear (but have to).
And so I say thank you
For loving me and sharing our time,
Making this tried planet somewhat sublime.
