The Begining of the Overlea Lions Club
The challenge of Lionism was presented to a group of men in Overlea, MD in 1946.
On February16, 1946, those at the first meeting, offically became members of "Lions International".
On February 22, 1946, the first regular meeting was held in the old building on the "Kenwood Presbyterian Church" location.
There were in attendance 59 men, including members of Hamilton and Parkville Lions Clubs, who were our sponsoring clubs.
There were 46 charter members.
The club presently meets at the "Golden Corral" at 6:29, on the 1st. and 3rd. Thursdays of each
month
