I'm Alive!!!
1,000 apologies for a three week disappearance.  Some things that has happened:

  • Went to orientation in CT and realized I didn't pack my pajamas (duh!).  Had to sleep in my undies and turtleneck.  Before I went to bed, I jacked up the heat thinking I was going to freeze.  Bad idea.  Woke up an hour and a half later SWEATING my ass off.  Not a good feeling since I had a sore throat and was super parched.
  • Orientation was umm, interesting in some parts (don't forget, I was tired from lack of sleep).  Drank a lot of kool-aid, if you know what I mean.
  • Later that week, Sophia was sick with an upper respiratory infection.  Of course that would only mean it would be in a matter of seconds before I would be infected (and the rest of us).  I was out of commission for over a week.
  • After I recovered from the cold/cough, I woke up one morning with a really bad pinch nerve.  At first I thought I slept wrong, but I was in extreme pain for two days.  Plus I couldn't cancel my pilates class because it was under a 24-hour cancellation notice (duh, like I planned this pinch nerve?).
  • Work has been keeping me busy.  Mostly dealing with schedules and stuff.  Nothing extremely challenging or insightful.  Sigh.  There are days when I feel like I haven't contributed to anything.
  • There are days when I feel like I wasted my 20 years by serving the man and not pursuing what I've always wanted to do- to be in a creative atmosphere such as a music producer in a film or television (I've always been intrigued by the behind-the-scenes world).  Now that I think of it, I totally wasted my time and career by doing nothing about it.
  • Then I think about the time before I had children, I should have visited all these places and countries yet never taken the time or initiative to go.  Some thoughts- parts of Asia, Vienna, Italy, Le Mont St. Michel & Normandy (France), Vancouver, Barcelona, Madrid, Morocco, Turkey...the list goes on and on.  Sigh!  I know, I know, I can take my children when they get older...

That was just a snippet.  Oh, a story to tell.  I come home from work and Olivia sees me.  She says aloud, "UH OH.  Mommy AH-AH (which means Mommy is going to hit!)" amd booked.  You ask why she said it?  Because she was wearing A DRESS (she chooses her dress and wears one everyday).  This kid is just beyond control!

Tomorrow is my sister's baby shower.  I seriously cannot wait for this kid to come out.  For a change, it's nice to return the kid to the parents and say BYE!!!  Thank God for technology and docs to tie my tubes.

Innocence
A couple of hours prior to my overnight stay in CT, Sophia says to me, "I'm going to miss you."

I'm not sure if there was smirk hidden beneath that sweet, innocent smile, but I do know that I'll miss them more (and my bed).

Hazing at the Company Campus
I am so not looking forward to my work trip tomorrow evening.  They want me to schlep my arse into the land of sparse Sunday night (that would be Connecticut), spend the night at a nearby hotel AWAY from my girls and my comfy bed and be ready for orientation on Monday, at 8:15a sharp (I normally don't even roll out of bed until 8a!).  This is so not pleasant.  From what I hear, my officemates tell me it's a complete waste of time because nothing applies to the NYC office.  What they're truly telling us is they are the big poppas and we peons should follow their rules.  Pffft, as if.

If I was going somewhere fun, MAYBE I would get all excited and forget that I'll be away from my comfort zone.  I think the only cool thing about all of this is I will get to see the **** floor set (if you know me, you'll know what company I work for).  Actually the other cool thing is, I will now get company discounts galore.  Disney trip, here we come!

Gung Hay Fat Choy- Happy New Year!  It's the year of the rat (and please, don't ask me what the hell the year of the rat stands for).  As any typical Chinese New Year, I have a tendency to bump into celebrities on the streets- Jin (Asian rapper), Kelly Choi (tv personality) and friends (hi PastryMom!).

My latest obsession (not as much as Tony Leung) is Daniel Wu.  Ya gotta watch him in One Night in Mongkok.  Had me scared out of my knickers.  And he's pretty eye candy too.  Yum.

18-1
YEAAAAAAAAH BAAAAAAAAABY!  Holy f'n shit!  The Giants beat the Pansy Patriots!  An amazing game.  What tenacity and preserverance Eli had shown on the field.  A well deserved MVP!  Anybody going to the ticker tape parade?  Better yet, I wonder if Eli & Co. will stop by my office along with the trophy...hmm.  GO BLUE!

One more note- HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY to my little monkey, O.  Very cute watching her blow out the candle (when S was two, she was petrified of blowing out the candle- huge difference between the both of them).  Bring on the terrible two's!
