Olivia update
I haven't done much Olivia updates in awhile. Maybe because it's kinda hard to spotlight one kid because the other one will get jealous. Or better yet, because I have a tendency to not remember what I've been meaning to post. Here it goes:

-Last night, we attended a party (Phil's cousin's daughter's 13th birthday- kinda like a Chinese bat mitzvah- weird). The girls were in total AWE of the whole atmosphere. Music, dancing, lights (the food was absolutely horrible)- they were in heaven! All I can say is, wait until they're old enough to go clubbing- OY VEY!

-She loves to play, where's so and so when we're reading a book. I recently quizzed her on "Little Einstein" characters. She actually knew who was who! The cutest part is, when she gets something right, she often pumps her arm up in the air. Not sure where she learned that from, but it's so damn cute!

-We have this mini-radio that plays all sorts of kiddie music (someone bought it for her from Target). It entertained her all the way from our home to Long Island. She only wanted to hear the "A, B, C" song over and over and over. And she can sing it (incoherently) too!

-Our nighttime ritual is singing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star", "Rock A Bye Baby" and "You Are My Sunshine" with me.

-She can count one to ten in Chinese, but kinda sporadic in English. Hmm.

-This past weekend we went shopping at the Jersey Gardens outlet mall. She didn't tinkle in her diaper the entire time we were out. Instead, she dragged me to the mall and restaurant bathrooms (BLECH!). A proud moment, but still, why when we're outdoors? Yuck.

-When she gets into a fight with Sophia (this happens very often!), she'll point her finger at her and say, "BAD GIRL!" Cracks me up (I don't laugh in front of Sophia), but boy does that leave me a bad impression of myself.

-O sees me putting my earrings on and wants one too. I think I'm going to hold off until she's a little older. Read the next line...

-She has a tendency to pick at her scabs (wait until she has pimples, oh boy). That said, she might yank on her earrings and the last thing I need is her to have an infection!

That's all I can remember!

Auntie!
My sister Judy and her husband Rolly had a baby boy, Mason, this morning at 5:01a, 6lbs 10ozs at 20" (he's a lightweight compared to S+O who were bigger and slightly larger than him).

Funny story to document- for months now, Judy had been attending all these crazy pre-birth classes (I never did it- felt they were silly and a waste of money and time).  She was aiming to give birth at a birthing center (but located in the hospital) that requires you to be drug-free (psh, whatever hippy mommies).  She started having contractions in the late evening, got to the hospital at midnight and give birth five hours later.  BUT she did scream and beg for an epidural (the doctor persuaded her she was about to give birth in less than 30 minutes but if she really, really, really wanted the epidural, she would have had the kid in two hours).  In her teeny tiniest voice, she said feebly, "Okay."  And sure enough, in ten minutes, she pushed little Mason out.

No photos unfortunately, but he is soooo cutes!  Those cranky ass nurses in the nursery didn't allow photos (first of all, why was mommy separated from the baby?  second of all, why couldn't I take photos from glass window???  lameness!).  Plus Judy had to share a room with a woman in the labor and delivery area WITHOUT A CURTAIN.  Hullo, where's the privacy?!  Ghetto-ness hospital!

It's so nice to finally be an auntie, a yee-yee and an ee-mo all wrapped in one!

Sick, again!
Believe it or not, just when I had recovered from my second bout with the cold/cough, I literally got hit once again with the bug.  Can't recall who was sick first, but boy did it spread like wildfire.  Not sure if came from Sophia's school, Phil's office or mine or if we just passed it around like we were playing hot potatoes.

Also out of commission was Phil's mom (she comes in to help the nanny watch O) and our nanny.  Only person left standing was my grandfather (he picks S up from school and help watch the girls in the afternoon along with the nanny).  So for two days, Phil and I had to flip flop our schedules since the nanny was out sick.

The week this all happened was the week when my office had a 10th anniversary party.  Definitely good times although I learned what type of people I work with.  Funny part was watching an old label artist performing at the party...so lame!!!  (okay I sang their tunes, it's a catchy song)

In other news, S is going through the whole school process once again.  Few weeks ago, S took an exam (effin' unreal, she was only 4 and they need to go through testing!  The pressure!) to determine whether or not she is talented enough to be in a G&T (gifted and talented) class.   In order to qualify, the child would need to score 97% or higher.  Not to undermine my child's intelligence (or any other child), but who are they to tell me whether or not, from a piece of paper, that my child is stupid or smart?

How Daylight Savings F'd Up My Day
Note to self:  don't watch any high energy, kung fu fighting, bullet exchange Chinese flicks late at night (I watched "New Police Story" - wasn't all that great, but I dreamt of Daniel Wu, he's so HOT).  I couldn't fall asleep right away because I was so hyped, I had to stay up an extra hour by reading magazines.  When I finally managed to fall asleep, I was awoken by O's crying.  Luckily when Sophia peed on her bed, it was already 7a (she says to Phil, "Daddy, it's really sunny outside").  I lost an hour of sleep thanks to Daylight Savings.  Phil and I were scheduled to run a 4 mile race in Central Park (we finished  about 48 minutes).  Top of all that, I had to go to work for a few hours to help close our 10th anniversary issue.  I also had to attend a wake (that's two within a month, sigh).  And I finally came home to a sick O (poor baby).

Having that extra hour of sunlight totally wasn't worth it- I barely saw it!
