FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
Although the temperature today made it into the 90’s, we’ve not had a lot of genuine “summer” weather this year.
And autumn is just around the corner!
Nevertheless, I do look forward to the rich autumn colors, baseball pennant races coming down the stretch, football
starting, leaves falling—and our Christian Education program being in full swing again! We have a very adaptable curriculum
for children called “One Room Sunday School,” which promises to engage children of all ages in experiencing God’s love in
Jesus Christ. Our adult Bible study, ably lead by Dick Davidson, will focus on the Book of Isaiah, complete with all the poetic
highs and lows that great Hebrew prophet offers.
On Monday, September 14 th, Faith UMC kicks off a 13-week Financial Peace University
(FPU) course taught via DVD by New York Times best-selling author, financial planner and stewardship educator Dave Ramsey.
FPU promises to be a life-changing event for anyone who participates in it. With biblically based teaching, lots of humor
and humility, Dave Ramsey offers a no-nonsense, common-sense approach to financial stability. Call the church office and check
out our weekly bulletins for enrollment information. But hurry! FPU starts soon. I’m really excited about it—it’s so relevant
to our times, so practical and such solid Christian stewardship education! Don’t miss out!
