August 14, 2001 update

Today, I dragged Micro out of the garage.  I got tired of whacking my head on the garage door while trying to glass the bow compartment.  I didn't need stitches, but it was close.  I also calculated that when the cabin hatch was installed, it would not clear the garage opening.  This seems to be as good a time as any to get it out of there.

I have the cockpit done, and almost all of the hull glassed inside and out with epoxy.  Marine ply, sheathed in epoxy should last a while.  Every exposed surface will get a heavy dose of epoxy as well.  It is too late to do this half assed.

The neighborhood kids are pitching in by handing tools, and cleaning up around the boat as I work outdoors.  They are going to assist with installing the forward ventilator.   We thought this was good to do prior to putting the cabin deck on.

Things are going quicker now that I have a little more time to get organized, and a little more room around the boat.

I will order yet more glass, and bronze bolts.  It looks like I will be installing the mast step cleats next week, and actually hanging the rudder!  I may have this thing painted by October yet!
