Hello Everyone

Sorry for the delay in getting to you all but there has not been an internet that I could use until now in Venice.
We had a wonderful time in Rome.  Got up bright and early and had a wonderful morning at the Vatican--it has been terribly hot--107 while we were touring Rome.  The afternoon was spent finding the Trevi Fountain, spanish steps and then the Pantheon.  We have still not found any laundry facilities so we are having the ambassadors wash out their clothes in the sink.  With the weather so hot they are beginning to smell so we are encouraging lots of showers and washing out their clothes.
Most of the ambassadors are doing well.  We still have a few that think this is a great 3 weeks to be away from Mom and Dad and think they can do anything they like.  Needless to say i will be phoning some parents about behavior.

Assisi was beautiful--we got to hike up the streets iin 110 degree heat and see the beautiful city.  We meet with a priest and had a very good conversation with him.-  The meals have been great and the hotels very very good.  The hotel in Rome had only been open about 3 weeks and it was a 5 star hotel.  Very very good.  Unfortunately for us the pool was not finished yet so we could not use it.

We went to Florence and then Piza--once again very hot.  But all in all we are all doing fine.  The homesickness is over just a few behavior issues to deal with.  My bee sting did go down after lots of ice and ibuprofen
and a magical drug that they have here in Italy for bee stings.  The hotel manager gave it to me and it worked great.

Onto to Venice and then the over night train and then our last country France.  Paris should be fun hopefully cooler.  I will try to e-mail again but we have the train ride tomorrow-no access--then we will be at the guesthouse.  I do not know if there will be internet.  The phone service was terrible in Assisi so we are asking all the ambassadors to call you.  Remember if you dont here from them they are probably having too much fun.

This is so far the most exhausting P2P trip that we have had.  the pace is unbelieveable and the heat has not helped at all.  Stay cool at home.  At least we have air conditioning in the rooms.

One more thing--last night we were in Tuscany and it was absolutely breathtaking--the view from our hotel was wonderful and the scenery amazing.

Hope to e-mail again.

Betsy

Just to clarify

Our ambassadors did not take a picture in the chapel.  The guards saw one of our ambassadors with a camera out and decided to escort her out of the building but since we were in the group we all followed.  NO ONE TOOK A PICTURE.  If you have been to the Sistene before you know they like to escort groups out very quickly
