September 10, 2000 Update

I finally got to the keel batten and it is bolted and epoxied to the bottom.  What a pain in the neck.  Crawling under the boat and working upside down with all of those screws was a backbreaking experience.  Fortunately,  it looks like all of that inside work is accomplished for now.  I added the two bottom battens as well.  They were not all that much extra work and stiffened the bottom substantially.  I have no fear of a bottom that is not stiff enough to handle the pounding I know will happen heading out under power in the typical afternoon hurricane on Nantucket sound in the late summer.

I accidentally made a few extra holes in the bottom when drilling for the screws,  They were easy to fill sand.

Next weekend,  I hope to grind down the epoxy lumps and fit the keel sheathing prior to flipping the boat to an upright position.  Then the real fun starts when I try to finagle the 375 lb keel into place and epoxy and nail it before the glue sets off!

I will add a couple of pictures of the boat bottom prior to flipping.
