This unique (non-powered/grandfathered) home is actually titled (and insured) as a boat.
It was crafted by an early New Jersey boat builder (Pacemaker). The walls are standard 2x4 construction with fiberglass
insulation just like a regular house. The roof/ceiling is triple insulated (2" inches of composite, waterproof ceiling
panels and blown-in insulation over custom tongue and groove planking. The roof is strong enough to support additional
construction, if desired. All glass is double paned. The hull is double thick 3/4" marine plywood with
hand layed fiberglass upgraded at considerable expense by noted Yank Marine in Tuckahoe, NJ (as is the roof). Yank has
also done all major service on the boat since it was built. The plumbing is new (heavy- wall copper), as is the heating
system and wiring. The heat is supplied by a standard fuel efficient Beckett oil burner w/ hot water baseboard
and is powerful enough for expansion. Hot water is supplied from either the furnace (winter) or an electric water heater
(summer). Exterior is vinyl sided over foam.
This unique home is designed to be as maintenance free as possible. It has stood up to blizzards, hurricanes,
heat waves and speeding vessels. There are no taxes, only the usual slip fee. The views are spectacular!
It can be left where it is, or towed to any other desired location.
Current owners of almost eleven years are retiring soon and will be (sadly) moving south.
There is also the possibility of renting this home for considerable additional income if acceptable to current
marina owners. E-mail Recluse2@verizon.net for additional info.
