To check your current version, turn on the remote and look at the Version Number in the screen before it goes to the list of locomotives.  Version 4.0 was a major upgrade from the 3.0 series.  The latest Version, 4.10, incorporates much better handling of Lionel and other TMCC locomotives to include lashing up units, speed control, momentum control, and access to all the TMCC Cab-1 commands.  You can come over and "talk trains" while I upgrade your TIU and Remote for $5 while you wait.  Make sure your remote has fresh batteries.  I can update your components at your site for $25.
