Thanks, Charlie company for the shite. Was in "B" company in early March of 68. Went through the "Sitrep" for names. Was in "B" company for so short of a time, but could not remember any. Did remember Sgt. Tim Walker (the report lists as Laster Walker)KIA on April 24. We both came into the company the same day. We both were new NCO's from the NCOC school at Ft.Benning. Me from the very first class and Tim the second. I believe I was one of the 6 the dustoff at 0849 hrs was requested for on the 28th. My squad was to set-up as a blocking force for heliocopter pick-up after bagging salt for 2 days. Last thing I remember. I'll be checking again. Thanks again for the shite. Dave

I served with C 4/3 11th Brigade from Feb. 20, 1969 to Feb 10, 1970. I was the 2nd Platoon Sgt. Usually ran the platoon as we did not keep a LT. around that was any good. We did have LT Hartsfield for awhile. Close friends were William Batts, Danny Webster, Jacky T. Olinger, Chuck Rowhaus, Buffalo, Pollock, Jim Knovac.

I was trying to find any web site that had my brother in law Lanes name on it. I found this one but can't find anything about Lane. I can find much about his brother Joseph because the Mayaguez incident was so. Can't find the words right now. My hate for Ford and Kissinger gets my tongue. But Lane just seems so gone. It there anyone out there who was with him at the end. I know my mother in law got a letter from him the day after she found out he was dead. We know he was third in line when someone stepped on a land mine. It was April 19th 1968. He died of his wounds on April 21st 1968. Which was also the day they told us he was wounded. But at least he is buried in the cemetery in North Carolina while Jopseph is under some tree on Koh Tang island. Thank God for Ralph Wetterhahn and his book about Joseph and Danny and Gary. For twenty years we believed a lie until Ralph went to Koh Tang island and learned the truth. And Ford has a replica of the Mayaguez ships wheel in his library. How dare he.How dare he. I'm sorry. Thank you for your time. Do I hate him. OH yes.

I was a member of C company 4/3 from Jan 12 thru April 15 1970. My nick name was "Preacher". I was wounded in action during operations near the "rice bowl" hill 285. I was one of only a handful from my squad who survived the massive explosion of the morter pit caused by a detonated booby trap as we humped past the pit. I lost my right arm and was also hit in the ankle by schrapnel. I am interested in hearing from anyone who was there that day and might know something about the events of that day. Would like to know about Sgt. Bassett.

I was assigned to the 2nd platoon of H Troop 17th cavalry 198th LIB from Oct 67 to Apr 69 Base camp was LZ Bayonet. We worked with the 4th of the 3rd several times. One of these times was with Charlie Company in the ladder part of Feb 1969 when Charlie Company lost about four men. You guys were great and never hesitated.
