This rose colored stole is perfect for the third Sunday of Advent when we celebrate JOY! The olive branches
in the dark pink batik fabric and handpainted in green and gold are symbolic of peace and the shepherd's cross is a reference
to Christ the Good Shepherd.
The stole front is crafted from cotton and cotton blends.
The cross is appliqued and finished with machine embroidery. The olive brances are handpainted with textile
paint and enhanced with free motion embroidery. It is lined with the same fabric as the front. Stole
is 51" long measuring from back of neck to the bottom of the hem on one side. It measures
4 1/2" wide at the hem and tapers to 2 1/4" at the neck.

the announcement of the impending Christ the King's coming. The Chi Rho cross is a monogram for Christ adopted by Constantine
in 312. The accent colors of blue, deep purple, and pink remind us of the stages/weeks of preparation
we experience during the Advent season.

celebrates the church year. The gold cross "moline" is one of the oldest heraldic variations of the cross. The
inside of this variation has been cut out so the negative space reveals the simplist form of a cross. This is fitting
because God chose to send his son, the King, in the simplest form of a baby.

for deliverance from the evils of the world, first expressed by Israelite slaves in Egypt as they cried out from their oppression.
There is longing for world peace. The colors on this stole echo the feeling of celebration--joy
that we experience during Advent. And we are thankful for the love God showed us by sending his
only son.
