My earliest memories are of an old man
who had survived Rhuematic Fever twice
during WWI. In his 70's he was barely able to walk with a
cane. This same old man (my Grandfather) would walk or drive me to a fishing hole to fish with a bent safety pin.
He would grin and say "try it again" as the Minnows fell off. Well I guess it's my turn now. I finally got to take my Grandson
to the Range at Wallback WV. off I-79. We spent almost two years prior to this talking about Range safety and the serious
nature of the Hobby but also the rewards.
I got him started shooting his new Stevens Favorite, then backed off
and let Grandma
take over (she has the patience in the Family)
David is 6 years old.

I really thought he was too young to teach proper form
but check it out he's close. Long ways to the sight but he'll grow.

I was a bit ashamed asking him to shoot the swinger. But
then he hit it, the look on his face!

David lives 70 miles away in Parkersburg WV.
Our time is limited, so how to top the Range Morning? My Brother owns
an Oil Company
so we took him to a well we had set a new Engine the day
before. He watched it run and was able to hold the Rod as it pumped.
I guess my point is when my Son was growing up like everyone else I
worked 7 days a week.
My Father-in-Law did the cool stuff, now it's my turn. Each Child is
different, when they are
ready teach them the safe and proper way of the
Sport. They are the next Generation.
