PLAN (n) - Top View Of A Structure (um, unless you're a leftie)
| This is the layout of the 17-inch side set. |

|
| the curved vertical line represents the archtop's profile. |
|
 |
|
The dimensions are to the outside finished face of the sides, represented by the heavy line. The fine
line represents the plate blank as supplied, and is not dimensioned. These two outlines are photo reductions of tracings
of the actual parts, and are in proportion with each other.
A full-size tracing of the plan comes with the purchase of a full set (top, back, and sides) to guide construction of
an outside mold.

| Want to build a small archtop? |

|
| Can you design between the lines? |
This is the smallest an ACME plate can be trimmed to before the flat return disappears; that is, the limit below which
you cannot have sides with parallel edges. The inner layout was made by tracing the underside of a plate on clear plexiglas,
and then tracing that line on paper, in order to show the relationship to a blank plate, as well as to ACME's side set profile.
This view was created for the adventurous who want to produce their own distinctly sized and shaped instrument, and are willing
to bend their own sides. A back plate without matching sides is a special order in maple for $115.00 including shipping,
and requires an email or phone call.
