Our hardwood veneers come from B & B Rare Woods; I cannot recommend them too highly to anyone who wants to check out the possibilities for a truly custom project.

Are you interested in a particular species or special figure of wood on your archtop? Would you like a hardwood top to match the rest of the body? Would you like to select and supply your own veneer? How about a leftie? Do you have a special vision of the construction you want to try, perhaps extra-thick, or thinner, sides, top, or back? Let me know about your ideas, dreams, preferences, and theories; I want to keep this interesting and fun.

I apologize for putting my friends and customers through this, but the automatic link has led to upward of two hundred spams a day, and even though I have good filters, I still have look for "oopsies" since a poor choice of words on the subject line can lead to a false reject.

Or, if you prefer, I'll be happy to speak to you. Call Dan at 410-523-5419.

This is important: no one has all the answers. However, you can get a head start on MOST of the answers if you add Cumpiano and Natelson's 'Guitarmaking' to your copy of Benedetto's 'Making An Archtop Guitar'.
