Free your books into the wild!
I just found out about this cool activity- Free your books into the wild!

www.bookcrossing.com is a website that promotes leaving books free in the wild to travel and be read by everyone.  You just get a unique number for the book and paste it in the front and leave the book for someone else to find!

What a cool idea!  I just think thats great!

Share your favorite books with the world, and recieve e-mails as people read them and post about them on the site.  How fun is that?

Snow Again!
A quick taste of spring, and another blast of winter, ugh.  I hope this is the last of the snow and ice.  I am looking forward to spring, and not having to spit horsehair for 20 minutes after every grooming session, LOL!

I am looking forward to a productive new year, and getting lots accomplished!

I love daylight savings!

After the water
We have had ice, snow and now rain, and the field is practically a swimming pool, LOL.

I just finished reading _Hackamore Reinsman_ by Ed Connell.  It was really interesting.  I was really pleased to see the similarities between the vaquero traditions and classical dressage.  The author really put across the idea that the reins are connected to the hind feet.  I was also intregued by his insistance on the single rein, and keeping the horse from getting dull on the hackamore.

Defitily worth reading.

Book Club Meeting!
The first official meeting of Read, Ride, Reflect was held today, and I am really psyched!  I thought the discussion was excellent, the topics covered were diverse and productive, and a good time was had by all.

THe Library was a lovely location and seeing everyone was fun.  I especially enjoyed the community aspect of the club, having everyone together was a nice change from the private lessons I usually have with everyone.

I'm looking forward to the continued deepening of the group and the level of the discussion.

Trapped in the ice!
We in Northern Virginia had a major ice storm this week, and we are frozen in!  On this, the second day after the ice came, the crust is so hard that even th horses hooves don't punch down into it.  That's Hard!

Schools let out early on Tuesday and are cancelled through Friday.  I hope we get some above freezing weather soon so we can get the roads cleaned up!

I am getting in lots of reading stuck at home though.  I have read "The Birdie Book" and my newest "The Inner Horseman" disks I recieved a couple of weeks ago.  They are excellent as usual.  Look for my reviews in the "General Training" review section!
