About Us

The Shine Shop
Is a custom metal polishing job shop located in Lancaster, PA.  We have worked on everything from pewter tea sets, to the trim from a 1956 Chevrolet; but most of our work involves the restoration/ reconditioning of antique (no longer manufactured) lines of cookware, primarilly those of Revere Copper and Brass, produced from 1920 through the 1980's. Our customers include professional chefs, antique dealers, collectors, and everyday cooks; all of whom appreciate the quality and nostalgia of yesterday's manufacturing methods, design, and styling. We get our cookware at flea markets, estate sales, and auctions; but we often work on personal cookware sent to us by customers to whom reconditioning is preferable to replacement - their utensils look and cook as new without the need to adjust their technique, they treasure the memories brought to mind when using the "pots and pans" of past generations, and they prefer to conserve by reuse.

Cookware Restoration
Our trademark NTN (Next-To-New)™ reconditioning process restores the original, factory-fresh appearance and cooking surface to cookware which has deteriorated due to age and use. Each piece is first dissssembled and chemically cleaned, the interior is then resurfaced with abrasives, and the exterior buffed to a mirror finish. Handles and lid knobs are likewise restored without the use of paints, silicones, or applied products. Hardware is inspected and replaced as necessary, and reassembly / inspection completes the process. The results we obtain are consistent and will last as long as the original. We have been in business for almost 10 years, have a retail store in York PA, ship worldwide, and have been selling on eBay since 2001.

Products
Unless designated "New, unused", all items sold at The Shine Shop are used - they will show signs of prior wear (such as small dings, pits or wear to the hallmark), which no amount of reconditioning can remove or restore. We will not offer for sale any item with a functional defect (one which affects use or durability) without providing a clear description of the problem. Photographs of every piece are available for internet customers to inspect prior to purchase.
