Picture taken of artist sometime around these years
These paintings were done in the equivalent of a very large closet that was designated a room by the landlord in Manhattan
from 1990 to 1993. There was enough room to mix the paints and put the canvas on the floor, and much of the materials had
to be improvised when funding was low (which was often.) Most of these paintings are monochromatic for this reason; quality
black, white and clear acrylic emulsions were available at reasonable prices. When cotton duck canvas was not available,
thick cotton drop cloths were recycled.
These paintings have not been reproduced, exhibited or shown publicly until now.
