A little about Goodwill Ambulance

Goodwill Ambulance is a non-profit, community-based ambulance service. Ambulances are staffed by a combination of paid and volunteer individuals, all of these individuals are highly skilled, caring and dedicated professionals. The Association deploys some of the latest vehicles and equipment, and is regarded as one of the most progressive and innovative services in Clinton County.

The Association traces it's roots to 1942, when the Good Will Hose Company No. 3 began providing ambulance service and first aid. The service grew and by 1982, became incorporated as seperate organization. However, the Ambulance Association kept very close ties to the Fire Department.

In the early 1990's the Association added a third ambulce to it's fleet. Volunteers were abundant at the time, and the burdens of additional training for hazardous materials and terrorism were not yet mandated.

In the mid-1990's with volunteerism on the decline, the Association began utilizing paid Emergency Medical Technicians. This to has grown over time. The Association now employs 8 Full-time and 5 Part-time EMTs, as well as an Operations Manager and a Billing Specialist. Employees aside, the Associaiton still maintains a cadre of active volunteers. These individuals are among some of the most talentedand dedicated individuals that can be found in the local EMS system.

The fleet was downsized in 2002, due to a dip in call volume and increased operating costs. We now deploy two Basic Life Support ambulances in Clinton County's 911 system.

Patient care reporting is fully electronic and completely paperless. Goodwill is currently the only service in Clinton County with the ability to complete Patient Care Reports (PCRs) at the point of service. This is accomplished by use of tablet PCs and PDAs. PCRs are completed while we care for our Patient/Customers, providing the most accurate "charts" possible.

Customer service is a top priority at Goodwill Ambulance. We recognize that if not for our Patient/Customers, we would not be here. Emergency Medical Technicians are held to the highest professional standards, and receive quarterly skill evaluations. Office staff are sent to training sessions annually. This keeps them up to date on the latest Medicare, Medical Assistance and commercial insurance issues. All members and employees are expected to be attentive, courteious, empathatic and responsive to the needs of our Patient/Customers.

We at Goodwill Ambulance look forward to the future, and expect to be ther in your time of need.
