RoboLab 2.4.5 Help and Information

ROBOLAB is an icon-based programming interface that utilizes a modified version of LabVIEW, created by National Instruments. It was created in collaboration among Tufts University College of Engineering Center for Educational outreach (CEEO), National Instruments and LEGO company. Pathes and downloads for software are available at Tufts University-CEEO Archive and the current version is availble from LEGO education.

This software is a great way for students in the 4-9th grade to begin programming a Lego robot. RoboLab is used to control the Lego RCX in the Lego Mindstorms Robotics Invention System. Within RoboLab are two levels of coding. The Pilot levels allow younger students to learn the incons and simplifies the program interface by limiting the number of icons available. The Inventor levels progressivly add more icons and allow more flexability in how the structure of the code looks and provides a finer level of control than the Pilot level
