What, Why, and Whom?  ~ Important W's to Consider

What is The Drama?

Some girls aspire to be ballerinas or princesses.  I aspire to be able to document my life completely on the Wired.  This is the first step.  (The last step, of course, is quite similar to the plot of Lain or that one X-Files episode.)

The Drama is a collection of my thoughts, feelings, and experiences in the medium of Sims 2.  Sometimes pain can be art.  Other times, it is quite funny, particularily when you get the pleasure of laughing at someone else’s misfortune.  The Drama inspires to be both.  After a conversation with Dawn, I decided that while my life as of late has resembled an overly emotional soap opera, it would make an excellent comic.  I have little to no drawing talent.  Thankfully, Maxis has supplied me with two-demisional models to pose in various, and hilarious, poses.

So, go ahead, laugh.  And be glad you are just a passenger in this twisted journey . .

Why The Drama?  Why post such potentially slanderous things on the Internet?

My love affair with the Internet started in 1995.  My access was limited, quite similar to the bumbling attempts of teenagers experimenting with sex.  My mother cautioned me against the perils of the ‘Net – diseases, unknown parties, and loss of privacy.  It wasn’t until college that I was able to fully access the Web.  It was truly a match made in Hell. ;)

Soon, it wasn’t just enough to passively receive information; I had to create it.  My initial sites focused on my interests at the time, the Goth scene, spirituality, mythos, music, etc.  But that was not enough either.  I branched off into capitalistic ventures, but they lacked the creativity of my former pastime.

What most personal sites boil down to is expressing oneself in a limited fashion for the world to see.  It is an exercise in exhibition and narcissism.  Webmasters and mistresses may delude themselves into thinking they serve to educate or entertain, but it still amounts to nothing more than self-worship.

The Drama is my altar, my platform for displaying myself to the world.  I am under no false ideal that my site will enlighten or radically transform the world.

The Darama – Why the fuck not?

Who am I?

I am a twenty-something with nothing to lose, except perchaps for this 210 pound chip on my shoulder.  I am an avid music listener who enjoys just about everything, but listens to primarily industrial and ethereal sounds.  I love to read, even non-fiction when it’s relevant.  Clearly, I spend far too much time on the Internet, but still engages with my  non-digital friends.  A lot of people say I’m a bitch.  I fully agrees and relishes the title.  I frequently entertain thoughts of world domination, but focus on controlling my immediate surroundings.
