Massachusetts Rainbow Grand Worthy Advisor Project Citizens today recycle and believe in saving our planet. In addition we can help children at the Shriners Hospital in Springfield. Any money we receive from collecting tabs is being used to purchase wheelchairs for the patients, or is being put into
theTransportation Fund which helps transport patients who have no personal means of transportation. This includes both
land and air. ALL CARE IN SHRINERS HOSPITALS IS AT NO CHARGE TO PATIENTS OR THEIR FAMILIES. Can Tab Collection Ideas Wherever there is a soda machine, permission could be asked to place a small poster explaining the collection of the aluminum
tabs. Monitor the machine frequently, so that users know collections are being used. Does your town dump recycle? Ask permission to allow one day or several days throughout the year to pry off tabs from cans
at the dump. Wear gloves and a handy pair of pliers may be helpful. One Assembly does this each year and this year collected
8,000 tabs!!! With permission, collect tabs at schools, colleges or universities in your town. Here is a sampling of the equipment purchased from the redemption of the tabs: 20 Traction sets, Passive Motion machine, Pediatric Wheelchairs, IV Infusion pump, Trailer for outreach clinics, Nintendo
"64" system games for the children, Upper Extremity Exerciser, Large bath chair, Micro-surgical instruments……. We can make a difference, one tab at a time! |
