We want to begin adding photographs and information about the real birds in the Southwest (range, life histories, behavior) and how they may have interacted with the people who created the rock art.

Is this a vulture in Kane Creek Canyon?

Vultures are famous for sunning with outspread wings.  Sometimes they twist their wings up in an awkward way. Herons do this too.  Probably an attempt to use UV to kill feather degrading bacteria.
