As each team of seventh graders has completed its Art rotation, we have had a contest for best of the colorful Mexican Yarn Paintings. Creatively developed from traditional native North and Central American symbols, the Mexican Yarn Paintings continue to amaze all who view them. Many students have taken advantage of open art studio time after school to complete their projects, while others worked extra hours at home to finish their projects.   Again, donations of yarns of all colors and textures made these projects possible.  If you didn't get to see  these yarn paintings on display at SLRMS or at the Holmes Public Library in Halifax, here are a few of the favorites of the SLRMS students & Staff.
