The Iguazu
Falls are on the Iguazu River
at the border of the Brazilian state of Paraná and the Argentine province
of Misiones. They consist of about 270 falls along a little more than
1-1/2 miles. Some of the individual falls are up to 269 feet in height, though the majority are about 210 feet. The Garganta
del Diablo or Devil's Throat, a U-shaped set of falls down a 490 foot wide by 2300 foot long cliff, is the most
impressive of all, and marks the border between Argentina and Brazil.
