Mickey was born in Atlanta, Georgia and spent most of his
life in Prince Georges County, Maryland in a community called Bowie. His father worked as a computer analyst for NSA and his
mother was government secretary at the Department of Agriculture. He is one of three children, being the oldest of a brother
and sister.
He grew up in a moderate Southern Baptist church, was saved
at the age of 20 and then discipled through Intervarsity Christian Fellowship and the Baptist Student Union. The person who
had the most spiritual influence in his life was a praying grandmother.
Pastor Mickey is a graduate of Frostburg State University
and Moody Bible Institute. Pastor Mickey has served three churches. One in Ohio and one in West Virginia before arriving at
Grace in March of 1995. His testimony was produced by the "Unshackled" radio program in 1988.
Pastor Mickey lost his wife Cheryl to Cancer two-and-a-half
years ago; however, his testimony and strength in the Lord is unwaivering. Mickey has two sons, Josh and Micah.
