Following is information provided by our presenter, Ivan M. Nalibotsky, college funding advisor:

Strategic College Funding

The rising cost of college over the years has brought college planning front and center in many families' minds.  More than ever, families are seeking out information on how to reduce their college expenses and pay for college more efficiently.  College funding planning has become more complicated over the years -- changing tax law and financial aid rules keep the typical family having to rely on school personnel for all their financing guidance.

Most parents, at one point, have asked one of the following questions:

  • "Where can my student find scholarship money?
  • "Should we pay for school out of our current income?"
  • "Should we borrow, and from where?
  • "How should we best spend down the savings we already have?"
  • "Are there any possible tax savings for college available to us?"
  • "Can I afford private college, or just in-state public ones?"

It's important to get these answers and more in advance!

Presenter Ivan M. Nalibotsky is a college funding adviser specializing in cash flow, tax, academic and financial aid strategies  for well over a decade.  He lectures on personal finance matters in a variety of settings, is a regular presenter on college financial aid at many local high schools and corporations, and has been quoted in the national media.
